Computer Labs & Free High-Speed WiFi
The library has two computer labs and selected Internet accessible/word processing computers available during regular library hours. Use the 14 digit barcode on your DeSoto Library card to use the computers. If you forget your card you may use a picture ID to have the number looked up. Customers who do not have library cards can get a free computer guest pass. Customers must be at least 10 years old to receive a computer pass. Fines or fees over $5.00 will block access to the computers. All computers will shut down 15 minutes before the library closes.
The computer lab is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Easter.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I log on to a computer?
Sit down at any available PC and click the mouse. Click on the highlighted "AVAILABLE", type in your 14-digit library card number or 5-digit computer pass number, and click OK. Then click "Use this computer".
I type in my card number but it doesn't work?
Make sure you've entered all 14 digits on the card. If there is a block on your card, take it to the check out desk and have them check to make sure your card is up to date and has no fines over $5.00. Computer pass numbers may only be entered one time per pass.
What if I forgot my card or don't have a library card?
If you are a resident of the City of DeSoto, you may apply for a free library card at the check out desk during normal business hours. You will need to provide valid identification and proof of residency. If you forgot your library card, you may use a picture ID to have the number looked up. If you don't have a library card you can get a free computer pass at the check out desk or after hours at the lab desk.
How much time do I have to use the computers?
Computer sessions are 120 minutes. The computer will give you a warning before you are logged out. If there are no other customers waiting, you may be offered a 15 minute extension. You may continue to use the same PC as long as there are no reservations on it and there is no limit to the number of sessions per day. The PCs will automatically shut-down 15 minutes before closing each day.
