Tamara Bell is the Director of the Southwest Regional Communications Center (Emergency 9-1-1). The Southwest Regional Communications Center (SWRCC) serves the three cities of DeSoto, Duncanville and Cedar Hill. Tamara began her career in the emergency communications field in 1999 as an emergency 911 call taker/dispatcher. She moved into the administration realm of emergency communications in the offices of Training and Quality Assurance, and served as the PIO for the department. She attended Augusta State University where she received a B.A. in Communications. Tamara takes pride in the positive energy and the team-building she helps create and promote in her role as Director. She’s active in the public with speaking engagements in the community focusing on educating the public on the services 9-1-1 provides and how the department and citizens work together to get the desired help when needed.
