4th Quarter Update
September 2022

The City Council will form a new DeSoto Texas Cultural Arts Foundation in the Spring of 2023, and residents interested in serving on the foundation should contact the City Secretary's Office. Draft options from the Nance Farm Master Plan Update were presented to the City Council in Q4 with additional revisions to be developed and presented in early 2023. Updates at that time will include implementation and operational planning.

3rd Quarter Update
July 2022 

On July 19, staff provided an update to the City Council recommending that the Arts Commission and Historical Foundation be combined into one foundation called the DeSoto Texas Cultural Arts Foundation. The Council also discussed the bylaws and formation documents for this foundation. Staff is working to finalize these documents based on feedback received. In Q3, the City Council approved a contract with a third-party consultant to revise the Nance Farm Master Plan.  The conditions assessment has been completed and a Community Meeting to provide information to the public on the future of Nance Farm was held on July 14.
