Overview

The Patrol Division is the largest and most visible aspect of the DeSoto Police Department. The Patrol Division is responsible for the preliminary investigation of calls for service and crime.

First Line of Contact

Our Patrol Officers are generally the first contact citizens have with the department. Patrol Officers perform various tasks including neighborhood patrol, traffic enforcement, primary investigations of criminal activity, and various other duties. The Patrol Division is led by a Police Captain, and there are patrol officers on duty 24 hours each day, 7 days each week.
