Guidelines
The city sign ordinance allows residents who have a garage sale permit to place one sign in their front yard advertising the sale.
If you put a sign in the City right-of-way advertising your garage sale, you run the risk of at least having the sign removed by a police officer, code enforcement officer or other City employee and at most receiving a $500 fine.
It is illegal to erect or affix a sign in the right-of-way (the area from the curb to the sidewalk,) in the median (the area that is in the middle of any street,) on trees, public fences, buildings or utility/telephone poles.
