The search to find DeSoto’s next City Manager is officially underway. Keller, Texas-based executive search firm SGR (Strategic Government Resources), who was selected by the DeSoto City Council in August 2019 to conduct the nationwide search on the City’s behalf, has opened the application process which will run until October 14, 2019, at 5:00 PM CST.
While job candidates will need to apply directly with SGR for the position, a copy of the formal candidate brochure has been posted on the City of DeSoto’s main website and can be viewed below.
The search seeks a permanent replacement for Dr. Tarron Richardson who served as DeSoto’s City Manager since 2011 but recently left to become the new City Manager of Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Richardson was succeeded on an interim basis in early May by M. Reneé Johnson, who has served as the City of DeSoto’s Managing Director of Parks & Recreation since 2007.
