FAILURE TO APPEAR OR SATISFY JUDGMENT (OMNIBASE)

If you fail to appear in court or fail to satisfy a judgment ordering the payment of a fine, you may be denied renewal of your driver license and assessed an additional fee.

If you have been denied renewal of your driver license as the result of a citation filed with the DeSoto Municipal Court, you must contact the court to determine the amount owed, and you must make arrangements to address your citation and satisfy the judgment in full.   Upon full satisfaction of the judgment, the court will notify DPS of your compliance.  Be advised that it takes DPS three to five business days to update license eligibility on your driving record, and you will not be able to renew your license until DPS shows that you are eligible to do so.

To determine the status of your license, you may access the following License Eligibility webpage:

SCOFFLAW

If you fail to appear in court as required by law or to satisfy the judgment entered against you, you may be unable to register your vehicle in this state.

If your motor vehicle record has been flagged and you are unable to renew your vehicle registration as the result of a citation filed with the DeSoto Municipal Court, you must contact the court to determine the amount owed, and you must make arrangements to address your citation and satisfy the judgment in full.  Upon full satisfaction of the judgment, notice of compliance will be sent, but be advised that it takes seven to ten business days for the motor vehicle records to be updated.  You will not be eligible to renew your vehicle registration until the flag has been removed from your vehicle record.
