4th Quarter Update
September 2022

The conceptual design phase of the McCowan Park Aquatics and Recreation Center is complete, and the schematic design phase is currently at 90% completion. During Q4, the City finalized and entered into an agreement with Manhattan Construction to provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services during the design phase of Aquatics and Recreation Center. Meetings of the steering committee with final completion of the schematic design are awaiting a 30-day review period by Manhattan Construction to be brought up to current conditions on the project. Town Hall meetings and social media campaign efforts will occur in the second quarter of FY 2023. Staff anticipates bringing the agreement for Construction Manager at Risk services for the construction phase and the Owner's Representative contract before City Council by the second quarter of FY 2023.

3rd Quarter Update
July 2022 

In Q3, the City Council approved a professional services agreement with SmithGroup Architectural Firm for the design of the McCowan Park Aquatic & Recreation Center. A steering committee has been established to provide input into the design process. The design team and the steering committee are conducting biweekly meetings to discuss various elements of the proposed facility and provide input to SmithGroup to aid in the design process. Further, City staff and SmithGroup will develop the social media education campaign and begin conducting Town Hall sessions in Q4 to gain additional feedback from the public.
