Appeals
About Appeals
- Upon conviction of a Class "C" Misdemeanor in a Court of Record, the Defendant may file an Appeal Bond, only if a record was requested for the trial.
- The Appeal Bond must be filed due to an error in the trial process.
- The case is then forwarded to Dallas County Criminal Court, where the appeal is reviewed.
- The case is returned to the Municipal Court, and based upon the review, the judgment is either upheld or a new trial is ordered.
- New trials are held in the Municipal Court.
