Holidays in the year when trash is NOT picked-up and is rescheduled:
- New Year’s Day
- Fourth of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Monday holidays, such as Labor Day, affect trash collection. In a week when a Monday holiday occurs, trash will not be collected on that Monday, and the entire week's pickup schedule moves forward one day.
|Monday Holiday Adjustment|
|Trash usually collected:||Monday||Tuesday||Wednesday||Thursday||Friday|
|Will be collected on:||Tuesday||Wednesday||Thursday||Friday||Saturday|
Other holidays such as Thanksgiving are less disruptive to the schedule, but still have an impact on collection. The normal Thursday trash collection which falls on Thanksgiving will move to Friday and the Friday trash will be collected on Saturday.
If a holiday falls on Saturday, it should not affect trash pickup.
If recycling pick-up is disturbed due to a holiday, recycling will be picked up on Thursday of the holiday week.
